If you’re not interested in those last three, then your best bet is to pick up the non-green label version as it will be the most affordable. Not the 21mm, 35mm, and 35-70mm that were released later. So, the original G1 can only accept the 16mm, 28mm, 45mm, and 90mm. There’s also a green label G1 version which was the exact same as the original, except it was modified so that it could use the full lens lineup. The G2 had some minor design and technical changes, but the most significant upgrade was an improved autofocus system, and also compatibility with some of the newer G lenses. These were marketed as premium cameras, with the G1 and 45mm combo costing the equivalent of almost $4000 USD in today’s dollars. The Contax G1 was released in 1994, and the G2 in 1996.
